My Little Book Review... The First Sixteen: A Vigilante Series Crime Thriller Novella byClaude Bouchard

5 STARS ALL THE WAY!!!

This is the first time in many months that I read a book that did not pertain to work.

I'm glad I started 2015 with one of my favorite Authors.  This man will not disappoint.

I am a fan of the Vigilante series, if the Barry's ever made it to the big screen I would be front and center in the audience with war paint on.

This books reads like the personal diary of the Vigilante himself, perhaps because he is writing of how, where and why he got his start.  If you are a reader of the Vigilante series you will not miss many of the puns in this read.

Barry is eloquent, witty and hell bent on stating how he became what he became.  All the while not apologizing for it, rather expecting your gratitude.

The first sixteen are detailed confessions of the reason, need and want in hunting down the worst of Canadian criminals and bringing them to the justice the system failed to.

You can't help but cheer this guy on.  I mean, being a vigilante is a crime in itself... but let's not split hairs, let's just review this wonderful book written with true intent.

I especially appreciate Barry's notes here and there about the Lieutenant.

What makes this book a page turner is the very way the narration takes you through his history.  I am most pleased that this series is ongoing, although this as I stated reads like a journal, the books show how Barry not only grows into his 'activity' but does so with like minded people.  The same Lieutenant mentioned in this book in some ways has helped Barry grow.

As a reader, I too grow in the knowledge that not everything is as it seems.  And... your beliefs will need to sit on a shelf because they will waiver.  He's that good.

True to his talents, Claude Bouchard keeps to the 5 star rating in my reviews.  Bring it on Mr. Bouchard, I'm still Vigilante hungry.

Ruby Ransom (Jewels of Desire Book 2)

I loved the first installment and this second book to the Jewels of Desire Series was even better.

I love how they turned the tables and made the woman a Sassy, In your face, intelligent yet quirky, sexy fighter.  Rambunctious to the core even her guards think she is a handful.  Definitely a good twist of a plot Red finds herself in a tricky situation and takes full advantage of it.  She certainly does the same with Will.

Why I love it
The title alone is a play on words and it gives light to the story.  The playful yet tough banter that is in this story kept me turning the page.  Most of the characters from the first book pop in and out of this story and I love it.  The start, the meat and potatoes of it and the ending.  OH yes, I loved the ending.

Who?
Red Callaghan is tough, smart and pining for the wrong one that is until she meets the young man that will turn her night and nightie inside out.

Will Alexander is not so tough, super smart and just trying to right a wrong, so what if that entails a little illegal entry.  Only it goes wrong and some more wrong.  About the only thing that goes right is the steamy sex and the fact that he may not be tough but he's no wimp either.

Plenty more characters but who cares?  These two just keep you focused.

What happened?
Well now you have to read the book but let me ramble a bit.  It has sex, burglary, sex, explosion, sex, bantering, sex, not so fast getting to know you, sex, run in the night and changes of plans and did I mention sex?  Let's not forget crime boss Daddy!

I may love my history, paranormal, thriller and suspense reading but sometimes I like that quirky and quick read that just takes my mind out of the woes.  This book is a quick read but not too quick.  Enjoyable, erotic and a pace that picks up from book 1 without beating the same plot to death.  Gotta love how these 2 authors just keep this series going.

My Little Book Review.....Craving Caine by Erica Lucke Dean and Elise Delacrouix

Craving Caine

I have been fortunate enough to have picked 5 star reads this past few months.  This book however should get far more and a piece of the sky.

Craving Caine will surprise you, anger you, entice you, it will make you fall in love, cheer along and demand justice.

I appreciate a read that has the damsel in distress and the strapping knight in shining armor but this book puts a spin.

Emily Chambray is both a damsel and a fierce fighter of her life.  At a young age she fell in love and that love turned her dreams into a nightmare.  You go along a ride with Emily, one that is a run, a sprint, a stop and a return.  You live out her memories as they tell you how she got to where she is.  Emotionally and geographically.  I love this character, she is both the ignorance we sometimes let our heart have and the empowerment we end up needing.

Nick Chambray, he is who country singers sing about.  The 'Casanova', 'He thinks he'll keep her', 'Winner at a losing game' type of guy.  The kind of husband that makes divorce a winning event. However, he is also the kind of man that will now allow it.

Caine, (swoon) - mysterious, tempting, conflicting and the person that can either save or destroy Emily.  Which is it?

Now add some scum characters, traitors and a sexy backdrop called New Orleans and you've got yourself a great read.

Get your wine, candle and comfy sofa ready and GetUrReadOn with Craving Caine.

Oh yeah, this is the book that got this reader/reviewer back on track.

Authors - I am a fan of Erica Lucke Dean her buffet of writing does not disappoint.  She will write from love story to paranormal to mysterious romance to a blog about Waxing disaster.  I know when I start one of her books, she will surprise me and it will be nothing like what I had thought.  It is always better.  Check out her site - http://ericaluckedean.com/

Elise Delacroix - Other then Diamond Duplicity which was also co-written along with Erica Lucke Dean, I had not known of this author.  I do believe that together they write a fierce story and with a no holds bar attitude.  Check her out - http://www.cinnabarsilk.com/elise-delacroix/

My Little Review.....Diamond Duplicity (Jewels of Desire) by Erica Lucke Dean and Elise Delacroix

Diamond Duplicity (Jewels of Desire)

Sexy, erotic, mysterious and fast paced.  What more can you ask for?

Every once in a while I like to step out of my comfort zone. Alright... more then once in a while. Reading this book is just that. definitely out of my regular genre. Erica and Elise's latest Diamond Duplicity book took me out of the normal reads and gave me a smiling, hot read. I escaped into a read of a girl who is finding herself in the most no holds bar method EVER.
Why I loved it
This is my first read by Elise Delacroix and it seems she found a perfect fit with Erica Lucke Dean.
Who kept me reading
Lucy Mathews - Young and naive and quite ready to jump in a situation head first even with all the warning signals blaring away inside her. You just want to find out how far she will go and when she will finally stop long enough to ask herself 'What the hell?"
Max Callaghan - Well hell, if he existed in our lives at barely 21 many young woman would be in trouble and loving it. Even though this is a fast read, you find yourself anxious to find out whether he is as bad as he seems or is there something else?
A few other characters helped to make this funny and page turning worthy.
Sex, sex and more sex
Not for the shy at heart. I did say no holds bar at the start of this review. Let's just say if someone along your commute is reading over your shoulder you won't be the only one blushing.
The Authors intrigue
They did a fantastic job in making a fast read very interesting, mysterious, sexy and erotic. You are hating and loving a character, swooning and cheering for another. Way too short, I can't wait to read their next book which I already purchased, Craving Caine.
I hope to see many more books with these two Authors. Their combination of wit and intrigue has me as a fan.
I love it, loved it and loved writing a review of it. I love it when a book pulls me from the norm.

My little book review - Thirteen to None by Claude Bouchard

Forget stars, this book should get the moon too.

I can no longer say I am a just a fan, I am obsessed!  This series only gets better and better.  Claude Bouchard has a No Holds Barred attitude and it shows as soon as the first few pages.

I have often wondered how to really express what his writing is like and I finally got it.  Picture someone seductively pulling you close as if to tell a dirty little secret, slowly and provocatively so.  As soon as you are within kissing distance you are YANKED so your ear is to their lips and the person menacingly says 'Do I have your attention NOW?'  Yep, that's what it is like reading his books.

Thirteen to None shocked me.  He took some of the innocent, loving and kind characters and Rambofied them!

Let's get to the nitty gritty:

The worst scum that could be born... is born.  This foul creature is the epitome of evil.  He gathers up a crew of misfits and heads out create chaos and mayhem.  On the long list of crimes he added invading homes preferring those with the home owners still in them.  He finally picked one that could be listed as the worst place to invade.  The Barry's!  I admit I was waiting for the usual Vigilante crew to kick bum, make some really bad guys disappear off the living grid but the author, twisted writer that he is, took me for a spin.  There is no way you will be able to put this book down.  Once I was done with the book I was up until late just thinking of the whole plot and outcome.  I had to remind myself....It's a BOOK!  But it's not just a book, it's character growth, increase of plot, action and suspense.

I won't spoil it, I won't say more of the story, I want to, I've retyped this review many times because I found I did.  I will say... Thirteen to None gave my year a roaring start to getting my read on.

If you have read his previous installments you will be shocked.  If you have never read his books you will get hooked.  No matter what, be prepared for the seductive pull that will grab your attention and get you hooked.

My little book review - Suddenly Sorceress by Erica Lucke Dean

Get Ur Read On!!!!!

Suddenly Sorceress 800 Cover reveal and Promotional

I have been a fan of Erica Lucke Dean's writing for some time now.  From her blog vampire stories, to her personal blog, to her book To Katy with Love.  When I read through the social media buzz and her blog that she was in the works of another book, I was excited.  To watch an authors writing grow is fascinating.  It seemed like forever before a cover reveal of the book.  The title was enticing and I couldn't wait.

Finally, with the New Year the book would be out.  I was fortunate to have signed up to the Red Adept Publishing book tour for Suddenly Sorceress as a reviewer.  I got a copy a little earlier.  I had to fight the urge to read through it as fast as possible.  I fought the urge to stay up and keep turning the pages.  I wanted to let the story unfold slowly and enjoy in pace this book.  That was down right hard.

The title itself is brilliant.  The story is actually of a sequence of events that suddenly changes the life of Ivie McKie.  Ivie is a character you can't help but bond with and enjoy.  Her quirky thoughts, hilarious misfortunes and ways of handling disaster will make you laugh out loud.  Seriously... out loud.  Oh and the other characters... *swoon*

Jackson Blake is someone that any woman would just swoon over.  You just root for this guy and his brother.

Chloe is just the kind of friend most of us have.  We wonder why we put up with them and realize it's because they put up with us and both enjoy it.

Like many woman in the midst of troubles she turns to her mothers wisdom.  Ivie isn't different, rather her mother Rose is.  The relationship she has with the wacky yet lovable mother is page turning worthy.  You just need to find out what the story is with this woman.

All the characters in this book were created and formed with such wonderful personalities you can't help but feel it's a diary more so then a book.  You are there along side Ivie as she finds that she is not who she thought she was and that she was racing time... to get answers and a solution.  Even her cat Karma has quite the personality.

Poor Ivie doesn't understand all that has happened after her fiance breaks her heart.  All she knows is that her fiance is now the cause of a stench in their home and terrible feeling that the skunk in her sight is the start of a whole lot more trouble.

The full circle effect in some of the sub stories in this book is brilliant.  Pay attention, every character whether two legged or four have a large effect to Ivie McKie's new view to life.

If you are looking for a book that takes you out of the mundane day to day, this is the ticket.  It's the ticket to a ride that will leave you exhilarated, erotic, laughing, hopeful and dare I say it.... feeling like magic is possible.

So hop on over to Red Adept Publishing page (see link below) and choose a platform, purchase the book, set the phone to vibrate (*grins*), dim the lights and let yourself be taken to Suddenly Sorceress.

An Author poses a question about a fan request.

An Author on one of the social media outlets posed a question to fellow Authors.  Would you fulfill a request from a fan to personally inscribe and sign a book.  The fan would pay extra for the request and shipping.

A tremendous out pour from fellow authors ensued.  Mainly agreeing that they would in fact personally inscribe, sign and ship out the book.  Most wouldn't charge extra for the inscribing but would charge the shipping, rightly so.

I watched the exchange... as a reader... as a fan.

Now granted, in my life I only had one book signed and it was from Hill Harper and the book was for my son who at the time was a teenager.

I love to read and I love the interaction with authors but I haven't really adapted to the fan level of signed books, pics, etc.  Just write so I can purchase the book and read.  I think it's great that fans are there for authors.  It is the push they may need to continue putting pen to hand.  It is the recognition deserved for material that takes a person out of the norm and into another world if but for a spell.  It is the very way to get the word out on a great read.  It's free advertisement (let that sink in for a moment).

Having said that...  As a reader... I have an answer...

Yes!  Send the request!  Charge the shipping.  Use the best ink.  Write something short but wonderful.  That fan will tell others.  They are not just a fan, they are YOUR customer!  Do you not understand the customer creed applies to you as well?

Now granted you wouldn't want strangers knowing where you live, get a PO Box.  You wouldn't want to encourage any out of norm requests.  This question was basic and so is my response.

We are not just 'fans' we are the ones that read your work, brag of it, re-read it and tell others.  We re-purchase for another.  We connect with you via social media and see what your writers mind is up to.  We appreciate you.  Some of us review you, blog or share on other social media platforms.

It would be so much more beneficial for all to not lose sight of that.
